Papia Ghoshal's expressions have been captured by photographers and film makers , in India and abroad. Ales Lang, the music composer and documentary film maker from Prague, presently ,made a docu- feature film on Papia, ''PAPIA , THE RAIN BIRD''. Its being screened now in few film festivals. She worked in the feature film(cinemascope) 'Kantatar' (Barbed Wire), directed by Bappaditya Bandopadhyay (India)in 2006. She has worked in Ashoke Biswanathan's television film 'Manasha Mangal'. ( India ), in 2007. She worked in the documentary film of Aparajita Roy-Sinha in Prague, in September, 2007. She has participated actively in the theatre and started her own group, 'Ravosh', in 2004. Her training in stage-theatre was through 'Pancham Baidyik', a group led by Shaoli Mitra. She worked with 'Bibhaban', an intimate theatre group, since 1999. She worked in the television screenplay, 'Anandanagarir Katokatha' (The Heritage Buildings of Calcutta ) in 2001, 'Suprovat' (a daily morning news programme from North Bengal,as an anchor and reporter in 2000) Khelte Khelte, a television weekly programme on Indian sports news as a reporter and anchor. Presently she is working with the photographers Nemai Ghosh, David Gibson, Barry Lategan and Ales Lang. |
